Yes, indeed - another "no news" update!

Whee!  Isn't this terrific? 

So anyway, the realtor was able to convince the buyers to come back last night, but another 24+ hours later and we still have no response.  My realtor said that she sort of got the vibe that their realtor is getting a little annoyed with them (too).  I mean, seriously - either you like the house, or you don't, and if you do, you decide what you want to pay, and what's more than you want to pay, and you move on from there.  They've been sitting on my counter for two days, and as I'll not be able to go to CA this weekend, and since Steve will be in GA next week, and since my neighbor/babysitter can't watch the kids next weekend, well, we can't close on the 20th unless I'm willing to spend Christmas in a hotel.

And I'm not.  Willing to do that, I mean.

I do very much wish these buyers would bail, because although I would find considerable satisfaction from withdrawing my counter, I am trying very hard to put this into perspective.  But it's next to impossible to do that when I find their arrogance to be very offputting.  Ya know?

An update on the house selling nonsense

We received an offer early Tuesday morning, but it was much too low to accept.  We countered yesterday, and I got a call this morning at 10 am saying that they wanted to come back to the house before noon today to have another look (never mind that they were here for 40 minutes the first time - really, I understand that they'd maybe want a second look).  Unfortunately, the call came as I was driving my mom to the airport, which meant that it would not be possible for me to get home in time to get the dogs out of the house before noon.  I called my realtor as soon as I'd cleared the airport garage to find out any updates.  She says, "Well, his realtor says the buyer is very busy and can't come again until Friday or Saturday."  And then she chuckled, because really, what a bunch o' hooey.  Not to mention, the incentive I'm offering stipulates that the sale must close on or before December 20th.  They want to come back on December 1 or 2?  That leaves very little time to get everything in order to close in my timeframe.  Plus, and this is pretty important for me, if they don't decide before this weekend, that means I can't go out to CA this weekend to look at houses there, so... that leaves me with, what?  less than two weeks to look at houses, pick one, and close, too?  Else we get to spend Christmas in a hotel?

Um, it's not working so much for me right now.  I think we may need to go back to the drawing board about the closing date, and I'm going to call my realtor to discuss it.  She said that the buyer doesn't really feel any rush at all, but I do, and if he wants to buy this house (and from what his realtor has let slip, they REALLY do), they'll need to find a way to come out sooner.

Okay, we REALLY REALLY need some "buy Natalie's house" PVs...

We have someone who is very interested but they are being very cautious and uncertain about putting in an offer (first time buyers, I think).  So....quick, everyone please send us some house-buying PVs, would ya?  I'd be SO grateful!

BTW, my mom's home - she's fine for now but needs to follow up with a cardio specialist.  Thanks for all the good thoughts you sent her.  :D

We're out of here to run a few errands; hopefully I'll have happy news to report later.  And if not, I'm off to buy a Christmas tree next.  LOL

EDIT:   As of late Monday night, no news.  I know the buyers were asking lots of questions so I don't know if they've talked themselves out of it, opted to buy another house, or are just biding their time.   I'll post it here as soon as I know something.  :/

Our day wasn't at all how I'd expected it to be.  My mom was in the hospital but we expected her to be discharged today; I'd spoken with her nurse this morning and she'd said that all her labs and such had come back normal.  But then, it all changed.  Apparently, while they decided not to do a stress test, they did do a tilt test and she failed it.  Her blood pressure plummeted to 70/40 when she stood up, and it happened last night and again this morning, so... she's still there.  They did a carotid ultrasound, the results of which won't be available until tomorrow.  I spent the better part of the afternoon there, so Steve did a much smaller version of Thanksgiving dinner with just him and the three kids.  The important part of dinner - the praline pecan sweet potatoes - will wait 'til mom's here.  ;)

And earlier today, I did some online searching and finally found a camera for Molly.  I also read up on some of the many games available for a Nintendo DS Lite for James (uh, thanks Amy, for putting that bug in my ear), and although I was certain I had enough already for Bridget, I'm not sure I can resist getting these WEDGiTS for her anyway.

Needin' some PVs for my mom...

I'm home after spending most of the afternoon (Science Center never happened) at the ED with my mom, whose knees buckled and then she just fell down and blacked out for a second.   Although all the tests they ran came back fine, the doctor is very worried about a heart arrhythmia and wanted her to be admitted overnight for observation and for a stress test tomorrow.  She wasn't happy about that but she finally agreed to stay.  So...I'm going to bed in a few minutes, will get up to get some TG food prepared, and then I'll go pick her up hopefully in the early afternoon.   But for now, if you have any spare PVs, can ya send 'em on down to Florida?

Wednesday's update (nothing yet!)

We're about to leave for the Science Center, but wow, between the comments and emails, I figured a quick update was in order.  The second look folks who came Sunday have not put in an offer, so we don't know if they chose another house or if they are still mulling it over.  The folks who came Monday were choosing between houses in my city and another one, and did put in an offer on a  house (in the other location), but the realtor sent a quick note that if that doesn't go through, they'll be back to ours because they LOVED our house.  We have a showing scheduled for Friday and a possible second showing (from the folks who came this past Saturday) this weekend.   So...still three possibilities.  At least we are getting good, positive feedback, and plenty of attention especially during this week! 

I still haven't checked bloglines and as you all know, I'm way behind on checking blogs - maybe Saturday, Steve will take the kids to the park or something like that, and I can indulge in some guilt-free and uninterrupted online time.

So I know I'm pretty much AWOL, yes.  Steve's here, my mom's here, and we're also having a lot of showings lately.  One second showing yesterday, another possibly coming in a few days, a 30 minute notice today and they were here for about 20 minutes (at least)...  We're offering a pretty significant incentive right now (with a pretty tight and specific timeframe for closing), which is likely fueling all the interest, so hopefully someone snags it while it's available.  One of the realtors who showed the house this weekend wrote on the feedback form, "This home showed beautifully.  Excellent staging.  As of Saturday PM this was in the top 3 we looked at.  (We viewed 12).  There is a possibility they may want to do a second walk some time this coming weekend.  Will call and let you know."   How cool is that?  *MY* home showed beautifully.  Knock me over with a feather already!

As you can tell, I will likely continue to be away for awhile.  Heck, I've considered just cancelling the blog since I doubt anyone's even checking, lol!  But it's here and it's mine and I might as well keep on keeping on.  Fingers crossed we can buy the house with the 2.5 acres  - no pool, but horses allowed!   Of course, every time I think about leaving, I get weepy.  I can't help it - I LOVE where we live and I will miss it so very, very much!

PVs for my Molly, please

I don't think it's anything other than just a virus, but it's definitely not one we'd recommend for fun and games.  I'm up at 5 am after the third round (but not in a row - Friday, then Sunday, and now early Wednesday morning) of vomiting for her.  She has no other symptoms, and on the days in between (Saturday and Monday), she's fine.  She's curled up right now on the couch downstairs (at her insistence) with a large bowl for, well, for just in case.  I think it's pretty odd that she has no fever and no other symptoms - that it just comes on "out of nowhere", so I'll surely be calling my pediatrician later today.

And sometime in the later part of this morning, there is a caravan of realtors coming by my house, and we are supposed to be gone for that.  I thought I might get in a little holiday shopping, but instead, I think we may just stay at my neighbor's house unless the ped's office thinks we should come in.

So...yeah, if you could send some PVs to Molly, I'm sure she'd be grateful.  And I would, too.  Hope you're having a great week!

No news, but I'm here.  I have about 20 things to write about, but about triple that amount of things to *do*.  Doing wins.  :(   Touching up paint, boxing up some things so that the garage is better organized, more pressure washing (LOL), giving the kitchen floor a proper cleaning, continuing with the staging recommendations (it was an 8-page list!), etc., etc., etc.  I haven't had a haircut in....three months?  I'm looking pretty raggedy, folks, but Steve will be here next Friday so I'm making an appointment at my fave salon for a little bit of me time. 

I haven't read my bloglines feeds in over a week (and haven't read them through and through for over a month), and other than checking email for various and sundry things, I don't spend time online, either.  Come to think of it, I should probably dust off my camera and snap a few pictures of the kids, too.  Ack.

So for those few who are still checking in on my poor wee neglected and nearly abandoned blog...thanks for thinking of me!  :)  Tomorrow, I'm going to be, well, a year older.  Funny how one day can do that to you, lol.

Our pumpkin

Because our virtual tour is scheduled for later this week, I had to freecycle our pumpkin so that it would be gone quickly.  I had lots of requests, but many more from people who just wanted to see how big it was.  So, again, here it is... first, amongst its bigger "pumpkin buddies" at the patch where we bought it (ours is the one at ~3 o'clock), and next, with Bridget sitting atop it yesterday afternoon.
